Trouble maker, insolent and a pain in the neck. Into distributed-systems. Mostly-retired DJ. Triathlete-wannabe. 🇵🇹
Miss the trails but don't want to drop triathlon. Solution? Cross triathlon. Minimalist shoes are a no-go if the terrain is moderate or slippery, given the 1.5mm lugs mean NO grip. But I love the 6.5mm stack. Starting transition to 22mm & later 25mm so I can get at least 3.5mm lugs. Wish me lu k.

I've said it before. DRA is the Kubernetes functionality that's been making me the most excited about. Can't wait to watch the talks about it, and this one in particular. I'm sure it will be seriously informative for Kubernetes alternatives as well.
The evolution of Kubernetes networking has been a long community convergence of ideas and work. DRA provides a common language, enabling the Kubernetes Network Driver. @kindnet.es & Lionel Jouin at #KubeCon

One tech behind the three. Guess which.
I spent MOST of my #kubecon talking to all the project maintainers, contributors at the project pavilion trying to learn about different CNCF projects, challenges they face etc. Here are the projects I feel most enthusiastic about for the next year

1. Cilium
2. Falco
3. Inspektor Gadget

At long last, @chris.blue and I have submitted the final manuscript of Designing Data-Intensive Applications, second edition, to the publisher. There is always more that could be improved but at some point we just have to call it done. Now it goes into production; probably shipping in ~4 months.

Unsolicited advice: install GOWOD, use it daily. Your body will thank you in ways you can’t imagine. Short & long-term gains, no matter your fitness.
Having spent too much time on the computer for the past ~30y, this app alone is positively impacting tremendously my productivity & overall wellbeing.
Doing some #stretching and #mobility exercises nearly every day (using the #gowod app).

Might be wrong, but after a month I am noticing some things are becoming ever so slightly easier.

Hope that it really does help and I'm not just imagining things ;)

Yet another Virtual Kubelet provider solving real-world issues. Sad we have been unable to build a sustainable maintenance solution for VK. Definitely, a failure for me.

Vitalii from Agoda explains how they brought macOS workloads into Kubernetes at scale:

- Hybrid pods
- 55-60GB VM images with COW layering
- kubectl exec over SSH

I’m accepting suggestions for AI tools that produce easily digestible software architecture and workflow diagrams based on design documents and maybe prompts 🙏🏻 Mermaid diagrams doesn’t cut it.

After a week w/ 🍎Watch Ultra 3, using it for swimming (pool & open waters), riding & running both in & outdoors, it’s likely my Fenix8 is the last Garmin watch I will own.

Strava shooting themselves in the face. Again. 🤣
Exclusive: Strava just sued Garmin, demanding the company stop selling all their fitness devices (watches and bike computers), due to infringing on a patent. I dive into what's being said, a whole lot of history, what it means, and much more: www.dcrainmaker.com/2025/10/stra...

Apple event is 1h in and while the wording is all about "we've changed the world", aside from the iPhone Air it's all more of the same, just upgraded. Boring. Jobs would not be proud, right? Gotta give it to Google for not acting the same for a while ago.
