Enjoying a return to KS3- KS5 science in the East Midlands after more years than I care to admit doing things like working in SEMH, setting up and running school farms, and teaching a myriad of vocational qualifications
I feel you and I may be looking through a slightly different lens of working in the sorts of settings where every kid does need *something* but it ain't necessarily that (not me at the moment but I did a good shift in SEMH)

If you added up everything that can supposedly be fixed in society with a PSHE lesson, you’d probably have enough to write a new verse to the tune of “we didn’t start the fire”.

Have always hated the phrase (if not the concept behind if used sparingly). It's been around a long time but I can't remember why it first became a buzz phrase? Would have been 2012 ish I think if I work back to the first head I can remember using it

I didn't read it that way either, just that it has to be part of the curriculum offer in every school. I still think it's going to cause issues with staffing and also not help as much as the govt thinks it will though.

I used to take kids to do fieldwork on the Cotesbach estate!

Interesting additional aspect of this one (I used to live in a neighbouring const). The lib dem candidate that was elected was Labour when we lived in the area, very proactive and well thought of local candidate but interesting party change
