Since ten or so genera (with ca. 20 species) of grouse constitute the sister clade to turkeys (Meleagris), I would say that grouse (including ptarmigan, capercailie etc.) are the dinosaurs most closely related to the modern turkey.

If it grows on a siliceous rock (rather than tree bark), M. fuliginosa should be considered. When dry, it has darker lobes, but well-hydrated specimens are difficult to distinguish from M. glabratula.
