The image shows a large black corvid perched on a thin, diagonal tree branch. The bird has completely glossy black plumage that appears slightly ruffled or textured, especially around the head and breast, giving it a somewhat fluffy or "bed-headed" look. The feathers catch the light in places, showing subtle iridescent blue-black sheen typical of many crow/raven species. It has a strong, thick, all-black beak that tapers to a sharp point. The eye is dark (almost blending into the surrounding feathers), with just a hint of a pale ring visible around it. The bird is facing roughly toward the camera but angled slightly to its left, giving a three-quarter view of the head and body. Its posture is upright and alert, with the head held high.

A short wander around home this afternoon for #wildflowerhour
Naturalised Snowdrops, Aconites and a single Yellow Crocus in the neighbouring paddock. A Red-dead nettle, Lungwort, a few Dames Violet flowers still hanging on and Green Alkanet. Common Field-speedwell, Common Chickweed, Daisy and Shepherds Purse. Naturalised Crocus and Groundsel from the roadside verge.
