PTP was founded on the understanding that storytelling and sharing experiences is a powerful tool for liberation. It is our belief that media created by, for and about 2SLGBTQIA+ communities is critical to their ability to thrive.

Today, we are one of the longest-publishing 2SLGBTQIA+ media groups in the world. Our primary aim is to inspire our communities to pursue a future where everyone is free to celebrate who they are.

Our organization began as a gay liberation newspaper, The Body Politic, named by Masthead Magazine as one of “Canada’s 20 most influential magazines of all time.”

The 2025 PTP Pink Awards were proudly presented with the support of DECIEM: The Abnormal Beauty Company, BMO, and The Fairmont Royal York, whose shared commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and community empowerment embodies the spirit of the event.

The incomparable Beverly Glenn-Copeland was presented with the 2025 Legacy Award by music icon Sam Smith.
