These turned out pretty cool despite some minor issues with the glaze and surface decoration. If I attempt a similar style, I’m going to save portions of it (drips, layers of underglaze transfers) until after bisque firing.

Got my ladies vase back from the glaze kiln. Glazing just the right amount is still an arcane art to me, though at least the clouding and crawling isn’t immediately noticeable.

Today went much better with making a plate set, I mixed together a few slips to make that purple-ish color on the yellow and white one, we will see how that goes.

My poor big egg wall hanging sculpture had an unfortunate accident while I was glazing it and needed to have epoxy applied to fix it. Still like how it turned out otherwise, so I might just have to try again and be more careful with the glaze.

Got my maker’s mark stamp yesterday and so today needed me to try out making a really big plate from slab. Slow drying under plastic now so I can get it off the plaster form tomorrow 🤪

A couple #WIP pots. First one is waiting for bisque firing after being decorated with colored slips. The second one had my first pulled handles ever and is the largest vessel I’ve made. I’ll decorate it next. Both inspired by Pre-Hellenization Peucetian pottery.

Applied stains to my adorable King Chickadee pipe. In the wake of the last one losing so much detail, I think I’m only going to apply a light clear glaze to the eyes and the crown. Though I do worry that it might feel uncomfortable to use when left raw. #wip #pottery #ceramics #sculpture
