Nice. Just moved to the county. Was lamenting not having all mail in ballots like we had in Washington. This makes up for it a tiny bit.

Even the reason for these patrols in the first place is grim. US serviceman on Okinawa wilding out too much, so they had to enact a late night prohibition on alcohol consumption.

solo patrol as in US MPs patrolling on their own w/o an escort w/ local Japanese police. Apparently there are patrols to enforce an alcohol prohibition for US military on Okinawa between 1am-5am. Said prohibition was enacted b/c of a rash of sexual assaults in recent yrs.

Folks did a bunch of trips through Grand Circle and Overseas Adventure Travels, including at least one that was partly river cruise. On one hand, tour groups are decidedly boomer. On the other, the trips sounded really nice, with good balance of structure and free time.

on the apparel side, there's been an explosion of athleisure brands that combine performance fabrics and more casual friendly design that make Under Armour look even more unappealing.

imo, partly it's the aggro bro affiliation noted below. There is also something that has always been unappealing about their name, logo and overall aesthetics. Anecdotally, their basketball shoes performed well, but all their other performance footwear seemed to be boring or subpar.
