One more reason why the Empire will triumph in the end

Is this anything? Is this going anywhere? Idk, i do think a federation-focused game would be tough to do in a way that's interesting and still true to the show. A Klingon focused game on the other hand would be trivial to get right

I find myself thinking of this deck builder i played years ago called Griftlands. It was a pretty novel deck builder in that you had two decks: one for fighting and one for talking, but the basic loop was still the same. You could even choose one over the other depending on circumstances

I do think mass effect is the right Q zone (heh). You travel to various flashpoints, solve the problem of the week, debrief with your colorful cast of bridge officers back at "camp," ie the wardroom. But the core gameplay loop can't just be shooting galleries. What replaces them?

I do know that i want it to be in the TNG to DS9 era. I've had my fill of TOS. Enough spock, more Gowron

You can't have too much action or else it won't feel trek enough. But you need a little. And you can't have it all be thought provoking ethical quandaries because it's still a game. I guess a Telltale esque visual novel with choices would be good but still not exactly what i want

Ive never played a star trek game that was actually good. Is it that hard? What are we all missing as a society? What is my platonic ideal? It's easy to say "do mass effect but in the beta quadrant" but is that right?

hes so enormously talented that he has single handedly elevated some of the shittiest movies ive ever seen to actually being good
