Yep, overall I quite enjoyed my time with Dread. There were just a couple details that annoyed me, but I still liked seeing a new Metroid game in this day and age.

I re-read the in game instructions and it says you have to press L3 just once to boost. I think I messed up my movement during the first boost puzzle and assumed you had to hold it like in Super M. Having to relearn the controls after not playing in 3+ years did not help my cause. Whoops!

For some reason it was randomly cancelling when I was first trying it out, so I had the impression you actually had to hold it down. I'm actually just fucking stupid now that you bring it up. LMAO

My favorite was the storytelling/worldbuilding. I feel like the series never addresses that Samus was raised by weird giant bird aliens, and I was happy to see learn more about the Chozo and their relationship with Samus. Overall, I think the game was alright. I think I liked the M2 remake more.

There were these "puzzles" that involved the speed booster, and the controls for them are abysmal. Holding down L3 to run is a terrible for platforming! The solution for every single "puzzle" was convoluted and janky. So much technical precision for what almost always amounted to 2 measly missiles.

The parry system is good on paper, but it made fighting enemies incredibly boring when most of them just mindlessly do the same charging attack when they see you. Samus's beam felt very underpowered as well. By the end, it felt like storm missile was the only good option to use against bosses.

My biggest issue is the pacing. It felt like I was getting into boss encounters every five minutes, with a lot of them being repeat enemy types. It was not until the end that I finally got to go out and explore the map and then the game felt really good.

These old bones make me feel something.

It has little hints of gold and titanium in it from what I have been informed.
