My friend was very fixated on that detail as I tried to explain why we had gotten off the bus, lmao.

I knew my dad would 100% murder me if I did not get off that bus and he found out.
December 6, 2025 at 7:08 PM
I‘ll always report it, too, just not worth the risk. Of course, the one time I did, the bus driver in the small town was like “police? No, I’ll just make sure it gets to the lost and found.” My friend was so confused when I made them get off and walk. The chance of a bomb was zero, but

My dad grew up in London in the 70s/80s. I’ve seen him have panic attacks over someone leaving a suitcase unattended a couple of times. I don’t think much of the US understands how lucky we are that we don’t generally understand why he reacts like that.

Mr. Coffee has a similar machine that is a little cuter imo if it’ll also work with that type of filter.
December 5, 2025 at 11:37 PM
This is my favorite type of Car Person, it’s like talking to someone from a totally different universe.
December 5, 2025 at 3:41 AM
lmao, I’d love to see the spreadsheet on costs for that, I can see how it probably works out versus “used Honda civic” but it sounds like a nightmare.
December 5, 2025 at 3:14 AM
It’s $90/month for unlimited bus, subway and zone 1 CR. You could pretty easily be a one honda household, pay the car off quick, and swap the car and CharlieCard as needed. This is basically what my neighbors with kids do and we’re not close to a Brookline level of walkability/transit.
December 5, 2025 at 2:54 AM
And if you’re coming across this and looking, Quincy/Braintree/Weymouth is generally like this, though Quincy is really the best location if you want good transit access and to not have a car.
December 5, 2025 at 12:45 AM
It is not right, you can get them in my apartment building for less than that and we’re about 45 mins by both transit and driving to South Station. It’s often cheaper from mom and pop landlords, too, I just wanted heat included for ease of budgeting.
December 4, 2025 at 10:56 PM
These people also talk to their employees and less well paid coworkers in the office like this, lmao.
December 4, 2025 at 10:43 PM
Hot take: he just wants to increase “Blocked: by 294 here” or whatever it said in his profile.
December 4, 2025 at 10:36 PM
Remember Joe Exotic with the hired car waiting to pick him up in case he got picked for a pardon?
December 4, 2025 at 2:10 AM
And my next door neighbor was on HGH to try and get as much height as he could, and like I think there a non zero risk of prion diseases with that one.
December 3, 2025 at 11:38 PM
Even as a kid in the 90s my parents regularly talked to me about genetic screening because of Tay-Sachs, and so did my friend’s parents if it was relevant.

A family member had to get one (among several other tests) to come off of his blood thinner but, uh, he’d had a TIA and afib after major chest trauma so that actually made sense.
December 1, 2025 at 7:10 PM
I *already* had him blocked!
December 1, 2025 at 4:47 PM
I wonder why he appears to have at least three accounts with at least one with a bio whining about being nuked again.
December 1, 2025 at 3:50 PM
I’d also make more working for ICE!
November 30, 2025 at 11:53 PM
I’d also make way more working in a similar office role at Lockheed Martin or Palantir or Meta. This is not unique to blue collar jobs at all?
November 30, 2025 at 11:52 PM
He could have also been a real HR Problem of a sales manager at like a car dealership or environmental services company.
November 29, 2025 at 3:45 AM
I had one try to roll in some nice grass while I was on it! I got off in time, but that would have at least been a broken leg.
November 28, 2025 at 6:24 PM
Oh, I’d figured they’d put it with their nicest empty liquor bottles for decoration, lmao.
November 28, 2025 at 4:38 AM
I live in an area with a lot of colleges, I could probably sell the TV box to a frat house for $20.00 and have free macaroni and cheese for a year.
November 28, 2025 at 4:17 AM
Yes, I’d always gotten good grades in grammar but it didn’t fully click until my freshman year of high school Latin classes.
