So why aren't more people pointing out that the current President may have cut off entry of any/all refugees seeking asylum in the US because he doesn't know the difference between political asylum and mental health facilities previously known as asylums?

National Guard troops on the streets of American cities NOT at the request of local or state government and not as part of response/recovery from natural disaster is NOT NORMAL!

Republicans have apparently lost the skills required for governing a democracy. The Republican Party is in charge, if they wanted to get a budget agreement they could at least give the appearance of negotiating in good faith. Makes me wonder how many Americans are really happy with this ineptitude.

I will gladly give away "conventional wisdom" based on personal gut-level feelings for "consunsual reality" based on observable facts verified by independent observers. How do I register my request?

Why on earth is ANYONE talking about candidates for elections more than a year away rather than being laser-focussed on what is being done to delegitimize and co-opt the electoral process RIGHT NOW? It won't matter whose running if they prevent fair elections being possible!

Easy to feel overwhelmed. So glad there are people out there making mockery of the oligarchs. It makes me smile and gives me some respite. Then back at it.

How do we start an actual "outcry" against all the hypocrisy and blatant LYING? Why is no one in public life badgered until they "show their work" and come up with the verifiable data underlying their statements of supposed "facts" or admit that they have nothing? Shame, shame!

What about means testing and work requirements for tax breaks? If you don't actually get your income from a job, you aren't eligible, and only the first billion of your annual income gets the break. The rest is taxed at the max. tax rate. Submitted for discussion . . .

I remind myself every day: this is not normal, we do not have to go along for the ride. We count on elected officials behaving within the laws. But governmental machinery is being smashed to make accountability impossible. Civil disobedience is risky, but silence implies consent.
