I luckily never had to experience this. I think it may be less common in academic science. Almost all of my interviews involved job talks. Did they expect you to give a talk in a hotel room??

AI (not LLMs) can be quite useful for physics data analysis such as picking out subatomic particle signatures amongst the huge amount of background noise you get in collider experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
