Found some sterling mini salt shakers at an estate sale and thought they’d make great whisker jars for my wife’s collection.

Some crazy sticky snow this morning after a four-inch rain yesterday. These Kentucky weather swings are nuts.

My pigeons catch some afternoon light as it streams into the new loft. #pigeonsky

It’s going to be fun watching how the light interacts with the pigeons in the new loft at different times of the day and year. It’s been overcast for days since I put a few birds in the new loft but we finally had some afternoon light streaming in a window. #pigeonsky

I have two spread recessive opals at the moment. This one and his son, who is the one standing on my head. I actually prefer the expression of the son. More contrast. I gave a spread r.o. hen to a friend to race this year and she clocked in a tough 390 mile young bird race.

I’ve been told I have cherry in my loft. I frequently get these very light, reddish cocks with the deep red claret and silvery iridescent necks. They are my favorite.

This is why I have pigeons. They are very social and friendly. For those who care, this is a very unusual color: spread recessive opal male racing pigeon. #pigeonsky
