I'm starting to realise that I could solve two-thirds of my garage storage issues by getting rid of the pick-and-place machine.

Workshop drawer units are such a pain to find. If they're not brand new and stunningly expensive, they're used, rusty, stupidly expensive and "sold as an upcycling project".

🆕 blog! “Stop crawling my HTML you dickheads - use the API!”

One of the (many) depressing things about the "AI" future in which we're living, is that it exposes just how many people are willing to outsource their critical thinking. Brute force is preferred to thinking about how to efficiently […]

There's literally one thing I've found "AI" useful for and that's to transcribe the track titles of a mountain of production music CDs.
For relationship advice it behaves like Reddit (burn the relationship, here's how). For technical advice it pukes out awful code. For "art" it looks soulless […]

The ebay UK subreddit is definitely a thing.

"If someone asks you questions about an item you're selling, that's a red flag they're a bad buyer"

High on their own supply, every one of them.

Hmm... UK minister says they "will not hestitate to go further" on online safety if needed. I'm not certain that the current #onlinesafetyact is working (and there's a debate on that in Parliament on Monday) so that may be a statement to be challenged and rethought. #ukigf25

Grumble. Just tried to fix a n XR385 (DB60XG) wavetable card with a dead DAC. Shame the replacement DACs are also dead in the same way, and clearly board pulls from other dead cards.
I've ordered a TI PCM5102A DAC board which should be here in the morning. Hopefully that gets the audio-out […]

I've got enough production music CDs to tag that I'm starting to think a dedicated mass-tagging tool is needed.
The main problem is that for the set of 15 0r 20 tracks, you'll have the full cut, a 60sec edit, and sometimes 30sec and sting edits too. I don't want to re-enter the same data […]
