I started watching Trigun Stampede and I was immediately in my feels. A decade ago my brother who has now passed binged the OG Tri-gun with me.
Stories are important because they make us feel things we don't feel anywhere else. Yes, they are escapism but they are also much more.

Daily walks are what allow me to keep sanity. I work from home and then I write. If I don't force myself outside it's easy to forget there's an outside world. Also sun. Sun is good for you 🌞

Being a writer is sitting through the doldrums of life, working at a horrible job, struggling to make enough money to live, having your wife get diagnosed with a persistent illness and still being wise enough to synthesize all of that human struggle into a story that shows how beautiful life can be.
