I like dogs, westerns, and film noir. Autistic. Chronic pain has ruined my life but gives me more time to watch movies, so shrug. Autistic daughter and incredibly proud of her.
Attempted a wire transfer, and holy shit, it's not like in the movies, where it's all smooth and shit. It took a heroic amount of phone calls, information confirmation, and re-re-re-submitting the same security info over and over. Total nightmare.

Truly the most perfectly tone-deaf re-use of a classic photo for their dumb shit. What a fucking disgrace. If I was in this "photo", I would set myself on fire.

You will be visited by three spirits.

It's getting harder to sort the end-of-year list. Lots of great horror stand-outs. Most other genres suck these days.

Can you spot my dog?

Carina trying on her snow boots.

To my #PhysicalMedia friends:

Let it be known that I have purchased THE FRIENDS OF EDDIE COYLE on blu-ray, so if Criterion suddenly announces a 4K release.... You're welcome.

THE DAM BUSTERS - Fascinating because the third act of Star Wars '77 wouldn't exist without this film, but also a good movie in its own right. Just watch out for the bizarrely casual use of a racial slur at the center of a subplot.

Didn't want to cough up for the out-of-print blu-ray of the excellent film noir VIOLENT SATURDAY, so I made the mistake of watching it on iTunes.

What a garbage transfer. Almost unwatchable by today's standards, and even pan-and-scan for extra insult. I didn't know that still happened in 2025.

The Allman Brothers Band, where have you been all my life? This post brought to you by my local library.

Carina didn't last long in the snow today. Had to be bundled up immediately.

Getting my daughter into Creedence Clearwater Revival. Here are some gateway drugs you may try:

-Ooby Dooby
-Travelin' Band
-Bad Moon Rising

NIGHT OF THE JUGGLER - Damn, you guys weren't kidding, this is a real gem. One of the New Yorkiest movies ever made. Entertaining as hell, great action, amazing characters. You can see it on the Kanopy library service, or on Kino 4K.

2025 has been special because I used my library to educate myself on music history. The highlights:

-The Beatles (seriously, I had somehow never bothered)
-Creedence Clearwater Revival
-Earth, Wind & Fire
-Lynyrd Synyrd
-The Blue Hearts / High-Lows
-Sly and the Family Stone
-The Who

Jesus Christ, I don't want to use my fingerprint to access this trivial account, stop asking me.

I love my library so much. I suggest video games, and they buy them. Give it a try sometime.

Just verified no fewer than 8 pieces of personal information in order to check the status of a reimbursement claim. This system is not sustainable.

I tried really hard to watch BEAU IS AFRAID a second time on its own terms. The first half is perfect. The second half is excruciating. Just boring as fuck. I know this isn't fair, but I wish it was a different movie.

Hell yeah

Looking at my Letterboxd most watched stats, and it's interesting. It's only in the last few years when I started logging everything, but gives a snapshot into my recent interests. But I disown Wakanda Forever, didn't even like it. Not sure why I kept trying, maybe because I believed in Ryan Coogler

Sneaking some Sly & the Family Stone songs onto my kid's MP3 player because that's what good dads do.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 8 - I'm baffled by nearly every writing choice, and this is coming from someone who really liked 7. Just wall-to-wall arbitrary horseshit.

Incredibly satisfying life arc:

-Selling CD in college
-Regretting it 15 years later
-Finding it at the library another 15 years later
