Halloween in Javelina Crossing - (Drama, mild Horror, R) When a group of cosplayers perform a seance on Halloween, they conjure the spirit of a 1880s prostitute who reveals the unknown critical impact of one of technology's current electronic gizmos. 12 Pg. #scriptsky

@desertscribe.bsky.social and I put together a short horror script, HALLOWEEN IN JAVELINA CROSSING. Believe it or not, it's about QR codes. And the Halloween treat: the 9th film festival just selected the script. A treat would be the funding to make this gem!

In the spirit of Halloween sharing, tonight I attended a screening of Lisa Belcher's film, HOUSE OF ABRAHAM. It's creepy in a most curious way and deals with the ultimate taboo of life - death. If you want a film enticement to infiltrate your dreams... consider: www.houseofabrahammovie.com

Any phone designers out there? I want my Blackberry back!

Pumpkins appeared in the grocery store the other day. At the hardware store, spooky yard creatures are all over the place. Anyone want to work with funding a short horror film while in the Halloweenie vibe that is a look at the energy ripping through the airwaves when using a QR code?

One of the things I heard when pitching my script AN UNDOCUMENTED RUMOR, was that no administration would be stupid enough to put together a scam operation to justify a political cause... well, guess what? My script is probably not stupid enough for current times.

Today I completed a low budget indie style script about two writers occupying a haunted mountain cabin while on a writing retreat. Limited locations and cast, this fits within the production parameters of a solid, contemporary horror film.

Now to find this script a production home!

Mercifully, light rain in Tucson from a Mexican tropical storm. More in the forecast. Petitioning the heavens for a bounty to offset months without rain.

Wait! There aren't going to be tariffs on raindrops, are there?

Soon summer and Shark Week will be upon us. That in mind, today I did a nip and tuck on my marine biologist investigating strange shark behavior in Hawaiian waters screenplay.

Anyone want to get in the swim and make a deal on a grounded (if that applies to the ocean) tale about sharks in paradise?

A crowd gathered in the cemetery... on a full moon... to watch THE THREE AMIGOS. Truly and totally Tucson way to spend a Saturday evening!

It’s time. My feature script NEON CACTUS needs to be produced. With the severe cuts to the Veteran’s Administration chopping away at services available, including PTS support, this script needs to come to light. Is the world ready for a story about healing wartime PTS in the Arizona desert?

Great screening of VINTAGE JOURNEY at the Arizona Independent Film Festival last night! AIFF is the longest running film festival in Arizona and they know how to treat a filmmaker right!

As a writer, observing the wide array of comments about WHITE LOTUS is fascinating. While it's taking some time to sort them all out, it a most strange way it is quite helpful.

Personally, I'm still sorting through all the foreshadows and tip-offs throughout the season before assessing payoffs!

Not only are aloe vera plants good for burns, viewing them provides relief from the batshit crazy world out there. Makes me wonder what it's like to be a bee.

Astral projecting as a means of affirmation! Time to synch up with the Oscars and state some intentions for the future!

Was I relieved while checking my DVR recordings last night!
Next Sunday, in one short week, I can watch WHITE LOTUS then go directly to DEXTER. As good as the first cup of morning coffee for creative mojo.

Just another day in Arizona when one of these cuties looks in your window. That's surveillance we don't mind!

Early this morning nominations for the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema arrived. Our short UNBRIDLED, penned by @desertscribe.bsky.social and directed by myself, garnered a dozen nom nods. Congrats to all our magnificent team!

Since today is what it is, need something good on the immediate horizon.

Saturday I will direct a short film for competition in That Film Festival on 18 February, all because of our short film, UNBRIDLED. Setting intentions forward for all good filmmaking things. That's the arc! More to come!

Now, more than ever before...

When a journalist for an US-based Arabian TV network heads to the Arizona border to sleuth out a rumor of a terrorist attack formulating in Mexico, she enlists an unlikely team to take on the forces behind the operation. 98 Pg.

Based on political talking points.

Working through pre-pro on a short film that I will direct to be viewed before investors for a subsequent opportunity. Great food ordered. Shot list complete. Production design nearly finished. Gear check underway. There's not much better than prepping for a shoot. More news to come!

Canada, Greenland, Panama. It occurred to me during the night that all his hoopla about this may be a sleight of hand distraction so we do not focus on the one sweeping bill he insists should be passed. There are many balls deserving of our eyes.
