I can't immediately tell if this issue is related to the fact that irreversibility is fuandamental to any measurement of a quantum system. I'll ask Mark (who I see here "splits his time between Abergavenny, UK, and Notre Dame de Courson, France", which is rather enviably wonderful).

That's how it should be - "compute" = verb, "computing" = noun. Tech bros don't bother about such grammatical distinctions.
