Definitely Wang Yinglu. I haven’t watched Twelve Letters yet but my mom did so I saw bits of it and man, her acting is really insane. Plus she really showcased her range this year with Twelve Letters, WDBTB, I am Nobody S2 and Yummy Yummy Yummy.

This one hands down goes to "Legend of the Female General". Specifically this moon poster, although the dark one with both of them in armour is also really good.

Oops super late but it's Su Muyu and Mu Yumo. I love that they canonically shut down any speculation of romance between them. They're really family. Also the scene where Mu Yumo and Bai Hehuai help Su Muyu revealed an unexpected side of Su Muyu which I love haha

Hmm I guess this one goes to “A Dream Within a Dream”. They used a lot of jokes, memes, poetry, and cinema in the show, which are highlighted in the thread below. It’s quite fun to read about

Hmm I think the oldest I tried watching was Sell Your Haunted House which was from 2021. Currently on hold bc I have other dramas with higher priority but it started out pretty fun

Honestly, all the secondary characters of A Dream Within a Dream were outstanding but Nan Rui stood out to me in particular. Although his character development was rushed, the change was so so lovely to see. From the childish, spoiled prince to a brave, lovable younger brother.

Fave male character - Su Muyu from Blood River. An assassin who stubbornly clings to the righteous principles that his father taught him despite the obstacles life throws at him. He's strong, he's smart, and he'd give his life for the people he loves. I love him so much.

Fave female character - Ye Ping'an from Kill My Sins. She's smart, cunning, and uncompromising. She has no fighting abilities so she has to use her brain to get out of tricky situations, which makes her unpredictable and fun to watch.
(Highly highly rec this drama btw)

I dropped "The First Night with the Duke". I didn't really vibe with the humour. Like, the -- what was it? -- the tea party? was kinda painful to watch lol I enjoyed the 5 minutes of angst that followed but aside from the humour, it would've been nice to have more angst

Chang Huasen! Loved him as Su Changhe and I haven’t gotten to his eps in Sword and Beloved but I’ve seen the clips and he’s soooo cutieful

Li Yitong! Watched her act for the first time in ADWAD and she is so so good. She’s great at balancing comedy and drama, and her voice acting is really good too. Plus I love how bubbly she is behind the scenes. I’m alr excited for Gu Le Feng Hua Lu and The Vanishing Beauty.

Easy answer: China
Too many of the highly-anticipated dramas dropped this year and I haven’t even gone through all of the ones I’d been planning to watch
