That would be a great feature (and much like MH where you dismiss Not-so-Smart Matches).

I know most of the suggested new ancestors are wrong, but I don’t mind sifting through them, especially if I could then mark them bad.

This is a beautifully presented graphic from the Paper.

(Fig. 3 - Graphical representation of the inferred human population history of southern Africa).

Yes, but IF they are sequential you can just write a script to repeat the download for each image in a range.

Sadly, I don't think Ancestry like people scraping their website, so I doubt it will work. Could work for other providers, but I haven't tested it.

I had a look at using the Linux utility wget, which can pull stuff from a URL, but couldn’t get anywhere. Not sure if the problem was me or the website. 🤷‍♂️

TBH 12cM is a reasonable match. Ideally the match should also match one of your parents (if tested)

The WATO tool at DNApainter can help. Use it to look at shared matches.

* caveat - WATO is not great on small matches. DM me if you want a second pair of eyes on it.

I'm pro Pro Tools 👍 This is mostly because I need to use DNA to support my paper-trail research and the Shared Matches features with Pro-Tools helps.

Must admit I only know the rhyme from Dad’s Army (don’t tell him Pike 😀). I guess a lot depends on your family’s experience of the war.

My parents were still at school during the war, so were somewhat insulated from the war. There was very little “Collective Memory” of the war.
