Grateful for the warm welcome from the staff and students at Rivington and Blackrod School.
I was amazed to learn the school dates back to a charter from Elizabeth I. The choir stunned me with a brilliant performance of the school song in the beautiful school chapel, almost 125 years old!

Reform-led Lancashire County Council is closing a number of care homes with a direct impact on my constituents.

The consultation on the proposal is still not finalised but I have heard from a number of constituents that family members have been already asked to make arrangements to leave.

Thank you to AUGB - Bolton Ukrainian Cultural Centre for inviting me to your Holodomor commemoration event.

It was an honour to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Ukrainian communities in the face of Russian aggression.

Find out more about Holodomor here www.augb.co.uk/holodomor/ho...

I joined colleagues in Parliament on World Children’s Day to raise awareness of Ukraine’s stolen children.

Their return must remain a global priority.

🧵Good to meet Home Office Minister Lord Hanson earlier.

We discussed my work to ensure our law enforcement agencies are properly resourced to tackle financial crime.

Did you know, economic crime is estimated to cost the UK a staggering £350 billion a year?

Dodging the rain in Hulton yesterday!

Another productive session on the doors speaking with constituents about the issues that matter to them.

Speeding along Hulton Lane, fly-tipping and road resurfacing - all topics of discussion which came up for me to action alongside Councillor Fazeela Khan.

Plenty of good conversations with Westhoughton folk in Sainsbury’s earlier.

Thanks to Cllr John McHugh for joining me - tackling anti-social behaviour, discussing the school curriculum & media literacy, identifying opportunities to support schools around Special Educational Needs & Disabilities.

A pleasure to speak at two informative events on economic crime yesterday.

Whether it's money laundering gangs or Kremlin cronies concealing their wealth in the UK, there is much work to do in the fight against dirty money.

Thanks to the AMLP Forum and @cfs-rusi.bsky.social for hosting.

Excellent news for renters this week with Labour's Renter's Rights Act becoming law. Proud to be able to support this incredibly important piece of legislation.

One of the best parts of being your Member of Parliament is getting out on the doors, chatting with people. Especially when the sun’s shining!

With Parliament back today, I'd like to thank @fesonline.bsky.social, @ukanticorruptioncoalition.org and @dofe.org, among others, for hosting productive conversations at Labour Conference.

From UK-German relations to corruption and young people's mental health, there is plenty to get stuck into.

Bolton Council has been allocated £1.5m from the Pride of Place funding for High Streets. I'm pleased that communities will gain new powers to take over boarded-up shops, preserve local pubs or libraries, and clean up area eyesores. These powers will also help combat suspected money-laundering.

WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK

Letters have started arriving on doorsteps, warning suspected Covid cheats to pay up now or face the Covid fraud hit squad.

We're coming after you, Covid fraudsters.

In September, I held two surgeries, one in Westhoughton by appointment and a pop-up at Asda. Most issues are handled via email; reach me at [email protected]. Pop-ups aren't advertised but are perfect for casual chats with constituents.

Horwich Loco Works Road -Update

Unfortunately, there remain ongoing legal issues preventing the road from being opened at this time. Like many Horwich residents, I am frustrated and want these hurdles to be overcome as soon as possible.

Red Moss SSSI Visit

Yesterday I had the privilege of visiting Red Moss Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with Lancashire Wildlife Trust.

Many people might not know but we are blessed to have this wonderful site just at the back of the Middlebrook.
