Gotham released a roster update in June. It's not hard to extrapolate from that how many players are signed for 2026. It's 18.

Surely replacing it with some sort of ffp-like system would make sense. I see wanting them to be run sustainably but if a team brings in a big transfer fee should they not be able to distribute that as better wages for their current players rather than just transfer fees to bring in further players?

I'm sure you said something about it, maybe on a podcast around the time Jonas did an interview bemoaning the lack of one.

What happened to the director of football for the women's team that was going to be hired once Berta was sorted. It's been more than 6 months.

OK, but we now have a TV deal and I'm sure they didn't use to play so many games at times that suit European markets as well.

I assumed the mid day kick offs were to try and chase European broadcast revenue. One I remember from this year was in KC (a match which was heavily delayed, understandably) which is not a shared stadium right?

They had VAR. It was goal line technology they opted out of. 🙃

Though this is really Uefa's fault who insist on giving each tournament their own week to "showcase" them but given that this is the final round of conference league games they have to all be played at the same time so it's debatable how much of a showcase it is.

When the current TV deal ends they can switch the SF to one leg which should mitigate this issue in the future.

But like what team are they gonna put out? I'm not sure that resting the entire team for 10 days and tanking a trophy will help us beat Chelsea or City.

I think the fact that the games are in London means we should be taking them seriously. There's no travel involved and we'll be in front of mostly our own fans. If they phone it in that would be a massive mistake. If the games were in China or Australia for example then I would agree.

Sure but I was just referring to Tim's stipulation that they were 8th and therefore a massive shock and a terrible team. But they took 2 points out of 12 at the end so went from a comfortable top 4 team to 8th in the last 4 games.

Would like to point out that you have Gotham fans who listen too. And the match v KCC is probably a good lesson to Arsenal should we face Gotham to not underestimate them just cos they finished 8th. They won the championship as the lowest seed in 2023.

That's not really true. Post Olympics she started every regular season game except for the final one. Yes Amoros dropped her for the play offs but it was hardly an inspired decision considering how the play offs went.

The annoying thing in the context of the United game is that Jenna would probably have been the perfect left back to bring on with half an hour left when you need a goal. She's far more likely to unlock a game than Taylor is. I think Taylor was the right player to bring on in the other two games.

What is going on with Jenna? Seemed to be used fairly extensively in pre season and seemed to do quite well. Now she can't make a squad even when we are using the 3rd choice keeper to make up the numbers.

I don't understand it at all. She did really well in pre season, she literally got an assist v west ham playing left wing and we were down a winger, we could have used her. It makes no sense to me.
