Where DK has Rambi the Rhino, King K. Rool has Zeus the Hercules Beetle! His combination of power, flight, and massive range on his horns let him easily take the Castle Cup. His signature move is grabbing you with his horns and slamming you into the ground. OUCH!

Rool has recruited some animal buddies of his own into his Kremling Krew! This overgrown Hercules beetle is intimidating for sure; not only does he have the power to challenge Rambi's horn, he can also fly to perform aerial attacks! Thanks to his massive size and power, Zeus was easily able to become the Castle Cup's champion, and anyone trying to take the trophy away will have his horns to answer to! Not only is Zeus a strong fighter in combat, but he can fly up to get some powerful spikes! He can grab an opponent with his horns and perform a jumping suplex slam into the ground with his special move Beetle Bash. For his Super Spike, Zeus claps his horns together to make a powerful shockwave that spikes the ball!

Enguarde has upgraded from swimming to digging! Despite dirt, rock and metal being much more solid than water, it hasn't slowed this swordfish down one bit! He's fast and strong, but but a very good passer.

Enguarde Debut: Donkey Kong Country Attack: Sword Play Super Spike: Sea Strike Type: Speed Speed: 9/10 Power: 8/10 Pass: 2/10 Spike: 1/10 This big swordfish may look friendly, but that bill is no joke! Not only is Enguarde an exceptional swimmer, that pointed tip makes quick work of any deepsea dangers that dare swim in his way. It's even strong enough to break open secret passageways in the walls! Enguarde has recently learned to swim through the ground, and with those two barrels full of saltwater hooked up, he has no fear of drying up. His quick swim speed makes him hard to catch, combined with how often only his dorsal fin is visible. Sword Play lets him charge a burst attack that makes him fly forward and damage anyone in his path. Sea Strike has Enguarde launch himself from a Barrel Cannon right into the ball, striking it with his bill!

My new Mario OC Creepy. Two designs of her are shown - her normal design is a small blue ghost with a black dress wearing a silver helmet. Her "scary face" design has her face morph into a demonic clown creature with bulging eyes and ram-like horns. Her bio is as follows: Age: 9 Race: Bloohoolan Birthplace: Ghost Kingdom The princess of the Ghost Kingdom, which is entirely contained in the Bloo Hoo Mansion, a giant haunted house inside the Forever Forest. Creepy loves nothing more than scaring people who dare enter the mansion. She especially loves their screams of terror, which she takes pictures of and hangs on the wall. All Bloohoolans have a special scary face that they can morph into when they want to scare - Creepy's is a grotesque clown with bulging eyes and giant horns. Her scaring is all in good fun though, and she's actually a nice, fun-loving girl when you get to know her. She gets overdramatic if things don't go her way, though. My Mario OC Sneaky, who is Creepy's twin brother. He is also a ghost, but has a black body, blue glowing eyes, and wears dark blue clothes with cyan accents and a cape. His "scary face" form is that of a giant boar monster with massive tusks and teeth, angry eyes, bushy eyebrows, and an extra pair of eyes on his snout. His bio is as follows: Age: 9 Race: Bloohoolan Birthplace: Ghost Kingdom The prince of the Ghost Kingdom and Creepy's twin brother. He loves scaring just as much as any other Bloohoolan, but isn't as enthusiastic about it as his sister, preferring to lose himself in horror flicks and mystery books. Don't underestimate him though, because his scary face is one of the scariest in the entire mansion - a monstrous boar creature with some gnarly teeth, and eyes on the nose Sneaky often quarrels with his twin sister, and while he sometimes makes fun of her outbursts over the smallest things, he's got a bit of a temper himself. He'll sometimes remain in his scary face if he's mad or irritated.

like, when I drew movie designs for my OCs, thinking about how they would be reinterpreted for a new medium was the first thing on my mind. stuff like leaning way further into Pearl being royalty, or Brooke being more of a condescending smartass. I found that kind of reinterpretation really cool

MIPS Debut: Super Mario 64 Attack: Star Power Super Spike: Uncatchable! Type: Speed Speed: 10/10 Power: 3/10 Pass: 3/10 Spike: 6/10 The royal pet rabbit of the Toadstool family. He normally keeps to himself in the castle basement, which suits the castle staff just fine. If you wanna pet MIPS, you'll have to catch him first. Not only is he quick on his feet, he also has a bad habit of stealing the castle's Power Stars and playing with them like toys. He's brought one with him to the Spikers League, and he doesn't realize the kind of power it bestows on him! Star Power lets him boost his already maxed-out speed of 10 up to 15, making him by far the fastest captain in the league! It has a LONG cooldown though, and getting hit at all will end it early. When MIPS has a Super Spike ready, he runs so fast that he runs around the entire planet, building up energy for a spike!

one thing i'll always appreciate the mario movies for is their willingness to pull from anything from the series' history. I wouldn't call chef toad from super nintendo world a "deep cut" per se but he's still an appreciated addition

Poor Sue Pea passed away in her sleep and she doesn't even know about it. She's so out of it that she sleepwalks upside-down! She may not understand the sport she's playing, but her contagious yawns make her one of the most annoying players around!

Sue Pea Debut: Luigi's Mansion Attack: Sweet Dreams Super Spike: Night Terrors Type: Technique Speed: 5/10 Power: 1/10 Pass: 4/10 Spike: 10/10 Young Sue Pea was a friend of the mansion's family, and a classmate of Henry and Orville. She was always pretty sleepy and lazy, and found the guest bedroom's bed super comfortable. What was supposed to be a nap turned into an eternal slumber for the girl, as she passed in her sleep and became a ghost. She still hasn't woken up after all this time! She sleepwalks around the court, letting her dreams guide her to victory. Sue is also always upside down, so she pulls off some wild spikes. She can also yawn with her Sweet Dreams attack, causing everyone around her to fall asleep. Things take a turn for the worse when she has a Super Spike though - she has a nightmare and wakes up with a screech so loud it launches the ball!

LUIGI'S MANSION

I came to appreciate the arcade-y score attack nature of this game WAY more this playthrough. It's really fun getting as much money as you and getting the best rank

playing the PAL hidden mansion was a fun experience but wow some of those ghost rooms are BRUTAL

Five of my Mario OCs in Halloween costumes. Clockwise: Pearl (Vampearl): Pearl is wearing a dark-brown witch cloak with a darker-brown cape, and has fake red fangs in her mouth. Her crystal hair is poking into the cloak's hood, making it look really lumpy and uneven. Belle (Frankenstein): Belle is dressed in a brown trench coat with matching pants and shoes, and her face, arms and antennae have green and brown patching all over them, making her resemble Frankenstein's monster. Her antennae is also crooked and bent, when normally they simply point straight ahead. Brooke (Super Suit): Brooke is wearing a robot suit, with one of her legs, two of her arms, and one of her antennae looking cybernetic. One of the lenses on her glasses is also completely black with a purple digital iris in it, which also looks cybernetic. The chest and shoulder pads also have buttons resembling a controller, such as face buttons, a d-pad, control sticks, and even shoulder buttons. The color scheme overall is reminiscent of the SNES. Brittany (Fairy): Brittany's costume resembles an orange fairy dress with red and magenta assets, and has faint yellow highlights on her sleeves and skirt. Her ponytails are tied by red ribbons, and she has red and orange butterfly wings made of cardboard. She also has a wand that's designed after a Life-Up Heart from Super Mario Odyssey. Squishy (Spider): Squishy is is dressed like a black widow spider - her arms resemble spider legs, and she has six additional spider legs, three on each side of her. Her shell, normally yellow, is designed like a black widow's throax, complete with the red hourglass symbol. Her normally pink outfit is also red and has a spider-web pattern. Finally, Squishy's head, octopus hair, and wagon are all colored red as opposed to pink/purple.
