You'd think with how every new title is somehow fundamentally Not Metroid and Metroid Is Ruined Forever Now that we'd have stopped getting games about 23 years ago, or at least the broader collective consciousness of fandom could get a fucking grip.

I also remember Prime 1 being criticized for "chasing the shooter trend", Prime 2 for "chasing survival horror", Prime 3 for literally the same shit as Fusion, Other M for killing the series with bad dialogue and plot writing, and Fed Force, and M:SR, and Dread. Curious how the series trucks on.
