Only since... 1995? _Modernist_ electronic music dates back, at the very least (again depending on terminology) 75 years or so (think Stockhausen, Varèse etc. etc.) but I think you must mean something else..?

Someone might say that success was due to the umlaut, but you and I know it was down to the brackets. 😉
