Many names have I and many faces…

Some of you may know me as @shootthescreen

Hi, I'm Paul. Pleased to meet you.
Yes, but what this stat doesn't tell you is that this was 23 times on the same bloody car journey.

Guess which idiot left his work shoes outside in the rain all night.

Guess who has to leave for work 30mins early to avoid roadworks.

Done with this trick or treat bullshit already.

Anyway, Happy Friday the Halloweenth everyone 🎃

24: 'Driver 8'

"The power lines have floaters so the airplanes won't get snagged"

Just discovered that this is an actual thing and not just some cute impressionistic poetry dreamed up Michael Stipe.

Listen and learn with R.E.M.

Watching traditional Punch & Judy with the kids and the woman next to me has just called them ’Sooty and Sweep'

The absolute state of this country!

Possibly?!
I was working on the basis of this discogs listing which has it as a B Side.
Having said that, a close look at the label photo doesn't give either track a definitive A or B status.
Comments do state 'Aht Uh' as the B Side.
Who knows? I'm bored listening to myself now....😂

Share a photo of one or more of your music reference books. #MusicSky

Most of mine are all over the place but at least all the Factory related books are on the same shelf.

Yes, I'm happy to take that on; whether I can do it justice is another matter. I'll give it my best shot.

Day 15: Lo-Fi

'The Texas Campfire Tapes' - Michelle Shocked

Recorded on a portable cassette player and all the better for it.

An artist who famously protects her work from streaming services. If you want it, you'll have to find it or buy it.

So many great picks for the #PlanetDisco #MusicChallenge

Is anyone compiling a playlist? I tried, but had to abandon the project on Day 3. Now it's too daunting to pick up where I left off.

I'm not sure any of these will win new converts but I enjoyed all of them.
Stereolab in particular is getting a lot of repeat plays.

Walking along the beach at sunset. Guess what song I've got stuck in my head. That's right, 'Mistletoe and Wine'.

Day 50: 'Minnie The Moocher' - Cab Calloway(1931)

I don't have any points left to give but there's so many great things about this song. The woozy staggering through an opium den feel of the music; the slang; the scat; the call and response.

A great place to start/stop my 50 fave songs

A super rare Monday morning treat for me.
A trip to the cinema!
Had an absolute blast with 'Sinners'. The best genre film I've seen in a long long time. Definitely the best vampire cracker vs gin joint revellers film ever made.
