24: 'Driver 8'
"The power lines have floaters so the airplanes won't get snagged"
Just discovered that this is an actual thing and not just some cute impressionistic poetry dreamed up Michael Stipe.
Listen and learn with R.E.M.

The absolute state of this country!
The absolute state of this country!
I was working on the basis of this discogs listing which has it as a B Side.
Having said that, a close look at the label photo doesn't give either track a definitive A or B status.
Comments do state 'Aht Uh' as the B Side.
Who knows? I'm bored listening to myself now....😂

Most of mine are all over the place but at least all the Factory related books are on the same shelf.

Day 15: Lo-Fi
'The Texas Campfire Tapes' - Michelle Shocked
Recorded on a portable cassette player and all the better for it.
An artist who famously protects her work from streaming services. If you want it, you'll have to find it or buy it.

Is anyone compiling a playlist? I tried, but had to abandon the project on Day 3. Now it's too daunting to pick up where I left off.

I'm not sure any of these will win new converts but I enjoyed all of them.
Stereolab in particular is getting a lot of repeat plays.

Day 50: 'Minnie The Moocher' - Cab Calloway(1931)
I don't have any points left to give but there's so many great things about this song. The woozy staggering through an opium den feel of the music; the slang; the scat; the call and response.
A great place to start/stop my 50 fave songs

A trip to the cinema!
Had an absolute blast with 'Sinners'. The best genre film I've seen in a long long time. Definitely the best vampire cracker vs gin joint revellers film ever made.
