In the state of Maryland, labor trafficking just became illegal in 2019, and although we sometime like to think that advanced countries are immune to these types of crimes the reality is that the United States, like many countries worldwide, are extremely vulnerable to human trafficking.

Human trafficking is modern-day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act or both. Unfortunately, human trafficking has become a global public health issue and Prince George’s County is not exempt.
