I get that but my view is that the driving public has come to expect/demand that their needs are met and funded and there's absolutely no reason users of transit should demand better service as well as cheaper service.

In any case, I think using the word "tooling" in my OP is not accurate.

Photos of the 105/110 interchange always remind me of all the harm caused by car dependency. The 105, the last freeway built in LA, was built after a swath of lower income, primarily Black communities were razed, replaced by infrastructure that remains a blight and a huge source of noise pollution.

No amount of scandals and convictions involving priests, coaches, teachers, executives, politicians, TV personalities, uncles—a tidal wave of actual sexual abuse by cis men—can alter this weird preoccupation with trans folks and the theoretical mania that they pose a systemic threat to women.
