But most people seem to take the term "Artificial Intelligence" literally, to think it's *actual* intelligence, and has unlimited potential (presumably because our computers keep improving).
December 11, 2025 at 5:07 PM
This is not an unreasonable reaction to the latest trend to "AI everything". As an IT guy, I recognize this stuff as a useful tool, but understand its limitations: it gets its info from the Internet (which should be a big red flag), and sometimes gets things drastically wrong ("hallucination").

"Snu-snu" is from an episode of Futurama, "Amazon Women in the Mood". It's a take on an old joke - for disparaging women's football, the women of the planet decree they must die by "snu-snu": death from too much sex (with them).

I actually do wish I could speak with my *great*-grandmother. I was too young to really get to know her before she died. Or my maternal grandfather, who died a year later.

Mark Hamill being a fanboi! I love it. Also deeply appreciate the humility you show in your posts.
December 9, 2025 at 5:07 PM
I wish I knew. I kinda hope heart trouble takes me out between now and then.

No. No class. No dignity. No honor.

I was thinking a reply like "That's ironic, coming from you", but I like your idea too.

It's more of a Sad Meal now.

There may be some question whether the EU would let the UK back in, given the way it left.
December 8, 2025 at 5:49 PM
Shut up, Elon. Europe's internal affairs are not your business.

Seriously, why does anyone still listen to this choad?

Going out there, with lightning going off in the middle of the night and going into a dark empty back house, I thought uh oh, this is the scene in the horror movie where the husband gets it.
December 8, 2025 at 3:37 AM
When we married and moved into our house, there was a back house with a window facing the house. A few weeks after we had a sudden storm - I woke at 2am with thunder, lightning, and rain, and realized I'd left that window open. I went out to close it.

Also, his own post there declares that the end justifies the means.
December 7, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Agreed, soft-pedaling this kind of nonsense is part of what got us here.
December 7, 2025 at 8:40 PM
I know, right? Today the science-literate have to keep saying "FFS, the Earth is round and the Moon landings were real" in the face of unending laughter emojis.
December 7, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Also willful ignorance. That's maybe the single biggest problem with his supporters.
December 7, 2025 at 8:29 PM
Same here.
December 7, 2025 at 8:29 PM
That was apparent even in the GW Bush administration.

Seems to me that the filibuster should be reformed by eliminating the lazy filibuster. None of this announcing you'll filibuster so they don't even hold a vote. If you want to filibuster a bill you're going to have to do it the hard way. Be prepared to stand up there for 24+ hours.
December 7, 2025 at 6:34 PM
And the administration's brain-dead fanbois swallow it hook, line, and sinker. They're desperate to rationalize it.
December 7, 2025 at 6:28 PM
An appropriately brutal savaging of Diaper Don!
December 7, 2025 at 6:26 PM
So she's telling us that Biden dropped the inflation down from 9 to 3 percent, and Trump stopped it from dropping further? Hell of a self-own, Bondi!
December 6, 2025 at 6:52 PM
That's a good point. Of course, as a senator he can't introduce articles of impeachment, but he could pressure a House member to. Then he'd need to be among those voting for conviction when it came to the Senate.
