I am a history major considering how to create an arts advocacy group to support all of the arts at my kids’ high school. If parents’ booster groups supporting sports teams exists, why shouldn’t there be an arts and humanities equivalent?

Every son and daughter has to take care of this stuff or else face their elders getting scammed or simply being unable to do the basics. This always falls on their kids, if they have them. I have so many gen x stories of this.

You are making the right steps for you and the pup right now. That is enough, and if it’s always that way, it will be ok. You are valid no matter what. And you are totally correct that the stress of making decisions around a family in harder times can be ALOT.

Living that life with a 16 year old who will not take meds. Watching the significant struggles that are purely about asserting control in other ways because she cannot get control over this one central aspect of her life. How I want this for her someday.
