In Canada, you can still be guilty of supporting a terrorist entity if it's not listed. It has to be shown in court that a group meets the legal definition of terror. During the Dark Foreigner trial, the crown established that AWD had the intent to inspire terrorism.

It's probably bad for the state to be able to detain people, not proven to have committed a crime, for long periods of time without recourse.

Consider the things that are now considered terrorism that were not before.

This case has taken a colossal amount of time to move forward & prison conditions have been particularly awful

MA was charged alongside another fmr Atomwaffen member, Kris Nippak, who is on house arrest before trial. Facing lesser charges his plea remains not guilty

Sentencing submissions will occur on December 16, with a large amount of community impact statements expected.

The Justice will then determine his sentence at a later date.

Varagiannis, who lives in Thessaloniki, and a North Carolina man, Prasan Nepal AKA Trippy, were arrested in April 2025 for crimes related to "operating an international child exploitation enterprise." Nepal has been in detention since then.
