Well this is interesting news. This logo was on the side of my GWR train and, believe it or not, the wifi actually worked. This was one of the very few things I've ever badgered my MP about and I was told Labour would be leaning on the rail industry to sort out the problem routes. Woohoo!

Time for a #WildflowerID appeal - this was growing at the Stubb Mill bird watching platform at Norfolk Wildlife Trust Hickling Broad reserve. I often struggle to identify plants with tiny flowers as it's harder to work out what family they are, so what page of the book to look at. #WildflowerHour

A fruit not a flower, but we can bend the rules, can't we? Spindle with its orange berries just emerging from the pink fruiting bodies at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen on Tuesday afternoon. #WildflowerHour

Another one from my front yard on Tuesday. Common Ragwort looking a lot better than the examples I saw in Norfolk after the storm had had a go at them. #WildflowerHour

On Tuesday before I set off for Norfolk I checked on the Fox and Cubs that grows in the cracks in my front yard. Yup, still flowering happily. #WildflowerHour

Horrible weather in Norfolk this week so not much for #WildflowerHour - Gorse was reliable though. This one was at RSPB Minsmere on Thursday after the big storm the evening before.

Good idea. Here's a dragonfly from a park in Rome in case you get bored of the fish.

Here's my #TheWinter10 from Bristol on Thursday - around Temple Meads and Glass Wharf. Black Nightshade, Shaggy Soldier, Oxford Ragwort, Narrow-leaved Ragwort, Musk Mallow, Herb Robert, Bristly Ox-tongue, Daisy, Smooth Sow-thistle, Wall Lettuce #WildflowerHour

Musk Mallow still looking great on a road verge near the station in Bristol. #WildflowerHour

I managed to do #TheWinter10 around Temple Meads in Bristol on Thursday, but have struggled to find time to get the photos off my camera. So they'll probably be late for #WildflowerHour. Anyway, here's the highlight - Wall Lettuce up against a railway retaining wall.

One of the stars of our local building site, now spreading to nearby gravelly bits in road verges, Narrow-leaved Ragwort. #WildflowerHour

Oxford Ragwort, glowing in the grey light of an early morning in Bristol. It really does stand out in the near-dark. #WildflowerHour

Annual Mercury in its natural habitat, on some waste ground behind a wooden fence near the station in Bristol. The flowers are pretty unimpressive and you need to look closely to convince yourself some of them are actually open. #WildflowerHour

I've been seeing this nightshade around Bristol quite a bit recently, looking very much like a wild relative of the potato. which it is. The leaf shape suggests Black Nightshade to me but there are several quite similar species so I'm not very confident. #WildflowerHour

Surprised to find this in flower, not least because I hadn't seen it in this particular verge before. Common Fumitory near the station in Bristol for #WildflowerHour

Looks like the automatically generated text on the link relates to a different edition to the picture. Either that or Broad bodied Chaser has undergone some very rapid evolution.

A patch of road verge in Bristol that's been sown for wildflowers (just look at the density of leaves of common wildflower species!). Just the one Musk Mallow plant, which I think has sneaked in on its own. #WildflowerHour

Several of the weeds that have been growing around the edge of the building site near our office in Bristol have escaped into nearby road verges. This one is Hoary Mustard. #WildflowerHour

The Hemp Agrimony that has set up home in my front yard still has a couple of small clusters of flowers in November. Very odd-looking flowers on this species. #WildflowerHour

Oxford Ragwort hiding under a bench in a pedestrian area in the centre of Bristol on Friday. #WildflowerHour

Having a north-facing house has its advantages in autumn when the fact that everything flowers late means I still have flowers in November. Fox and Cubs yesterday. #WildflowerHour

A close up of the Narrow leaved Ragwort on Wednesday showing the longer and thinner petals than either Common or Oxford Ragwort. #WildflowerHour
