The West has to come to terms with the fact that the US is not an ally anymore. The US has to come to terms that the next President will have to dedicate years to regaining trust.

Reversing Brexit would take too long, and would be painful. However, there can be no doubt that closer links with the EU should be pursued over links with the US, which is proving less trustworthy every day.

Labours problem is that the working classes dont trust the middle classes. And as the Labour Party concentrates on middle class causes and concerns, the vacuum caused is ready for populists like Farage to exploit. Exactly the same issue in the US, France and Germany.

At the very least, the Church of England bishops need to be removed from the House of Lords. If a church can't lead on issues of morality, it has no right to continue.

The problem with the liberal left is we stopped listening to the working classes. We ridicule questions and attitudes toward immigration and socially progressive issues. We left a vacuum to which the extreme right gladly stepped into.

Given the election of Trump, could this be a positive for the UK long term? It will precipitate much closer ties with the EU including defence. Maybe this will stop us from bending over for the US all the time.

Unless your chosen Uni demands certain grades, A level grades will stop mattering one minute after you move on. Employers may ask for an A level pass, but generally a good covering letter and well prepared CV will get you interviewed. Then it's down to you. I forgot my grades years ago
