I took the feedback as a signal that the game is otherwise great, their only gripe is the UI, but it could be also a fundamental obstacle at the moment.

Besides the point but can’t you use @onready? I’m doing that for most stuff I have no idea when it’ll actually fully load.
Or if you feel weird, you could connect a function to a new signal that’s emitted when navmesh enters tree.
