It's easy to dismiss this as just a online thing - but increasingly the 'wealth tax/billionares will pay for it' is cutting through more generally

You can see it on normal, non-politicos insta feeds-particularly driven by the Greens. It's hugely damaging to the leigitimacy of actual progressive tax
Tax policy on the British left is pure "anti-bedtime left". Bizarre idea that you can have a big social democratic welfare state without everyone contributing properly www.economist.com/britain/2025...

Quite admire this from Bridget Phillipson really 🤣 Something quite weird about the British obsession with American local elections, or the idea that they are somehow a template for British politicIans

We seem to suddenly in a super weird position. We might actually be about to have an honest conversation about taxes, pretty much by accident inews.co.uk/opinion/lyin...

After years of political cowardice maybe we're finally ready for an honest debate about taxation

Guy Fawkes took the brilliantly original pseudonym “John Johnson” for his attempt to blow up Parliament today in 1605

We should make sure that anyone of that surname should not be allowed within a mile of the building.

Okay, I’m amused, but for goodness’ sake I’m sick of hearing about a local election in another country and would really like them to bring in a ‘mute America’ button every October/November.

Not sure who will win out in the New York mayoralty, but I'm hearing some *very* confident noises from Susan Hall's team.

The way New York City votes is always a reliable bellweather for the rest of the USA… right?

New York elects a socialist mayor… therefore the whole USA is going to boot out Trump, elect a socialist president and become a left-wing progressive beacon. - I don’t quite see it.

Anyone who voted for this or advocated for it is unworthy of your vote. Or your clicks.

They were either lying or wrong.

Andrew Tate says London is too dangerous to go out at night in.

He wouldn't know much about that because since May 28th 2025 he has an arrest warrant pending for Rape and Human Trafficking.

So he hasn't been in the UK never mind London.

They were crooks and shysters to a man

They repeated Putin talking points and appeared on Russia Today

It is the policy of the United States to “cherish” Christians (but members of no other faith).
