The restoration of the Indian River Lagoon system also secures a nursery of national significance for the bull shark (Carcharhinus leucas) because it's one of the most important nursery areas for the western North Atlantic population of this species 🐂🦈💙🇺🇲
The Indian River Lagoon NEP generates more than $28B in annual value and provides for over 128,000 jobs. Investing in coastal restoration is a financially sound decision that benefits every sector that relies on healthy estuaries - from real estate to recreational fishing PC:USFWS
