Scorsese just needed to get NEW
YORK, NEW YORK out of his system so he could give us the brilliance of THE LAST WALTZ. Even if it did put him in the hospital, but that did directly lead him to RAGING BULL and eventually, I would argue, KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON.

One of the concepts Howard Ashman pitched in the development process was a scene showing 11yo beast and his isolation, and I think it was so sad it turned into a big fight with the animators.

I was already in, but what?!

Well, now I’m already excited to get to The Aviator on this rewatch, even though it’s like 20 movies later, but also because as much as people complained about how long The Irishman was, New York New York somehow feels ten times longer. We are fully in Scorsese’s coke era!

I’m on NEW YORK, NEW YORK now, which is sadly not available in HD or streaming, so only an old DVD will do. Though it doesn’t always come together, I actually appreciate the attempt to do an MGM musical throwback. In some ways this is kind of a stylistic precursor to Scorsese’s THE AVIATOR.

Even if you don’t like his movies, you can’t see him making Shutter Island, Hugo, The Wolf of Wall Street and Silence back-to-back and say he keeps making the same movie over and over.

Happy six years of getting mad at “Marvel movies are like theme park rides” I guess.

While they’re at it, can their AI abominations ruin their fortunes and legacies, then hunt them to the ends of the earth and leave the rest of us alone?

This looks awesome. Congrats!

We are also supposed to believe Val Kilmer Bruce Wayne is the same exact person in continuity as Michael Keaton Bruce Wayne AND George Clooney Bruce Wayne. It’s not that hard.

At least it didn’t shoot its handlers and then itself or pull off its own head to reveal a real human skull like in Robocop 2. 🤷‍♂️

Fluorescent spandex and colorful ugly sweaters on everyone!

Honestly, I don’t think a single person who has ever seen a Bond film has thought of them all as one continuous story except for the Amazon execs now in charge of it apparently.
November 11, 2025 at 7:44 PM
If the next James Bond movie can’t reconcile the existence of James Bond Jr, that breaks the carefully constructed continuity of every 007 story since the Cold War.

Thanks! I can’t wait for this to come out!

Amazing! Congrats!

Supposedly there’s a new Mad Max movie in the works for 2028, so… “MadKitty”?
