My “highlights” were her jibe at Farage and business rates not being as awful as feared

Only someone ignorant would think what you put is correct….
November 23, 2025 at 3:39 PM
I think you’ll find I was replying to all of it and explained why your comment was incorrect. I’m not sure why you think I’m smug but hey, you keep trying to defend your original incorrect comment LOL. Now fuck off before you embarrass yourself further.
November 23, 2025 at 3:35 PM
LOL. You’re the one being ignorant, starting with “cyclists contribute fuck all but smugness”. And now you’re onto the ad hominem attacks which is normally what happens when people realise they can’t dig themselves out of shit they’re in.
November 23, 2025 at 3:20 PM
No. You’re just still trying to defend the codswallop you posted originally.
November 23, 2025 at 3:11 PM
Ah so now it’s this specific sector of the economy? How do you separate this sector? Non drivers use, and pay for roads, through general taxation. Are EVs that are (currently) zero rated and charged from solar panels not contributing to the economy? I don’t think your explanation works I’m afraid…

Driving =/= contributing to the economy.

The money not spent on fuel or VED doesn’t cease to exist or remain unspent but probably put to use in other sectors, spent on other things, and possibly contributing more to UK economy instead of lining the pockets of oil companies and Saudi princes 😉

There’s a queue forming of people very happy to do just that

While you’re cycling you’re not causing wear and tear, and damage by accidents, or costs to the NHS through injury, pollution (respiratory diseases) and the exercise is healthy. The upkeep of the roads is paid for through general taxation. Car dependency is a drag on our economy and causes hardship
November 22, 2025 at 8:53 PM
“Contributing to the Economy” LOL . Imagine how much money people would have to spend on other things if it wasn’t contributing to the obscene profits of the big oil companies and gulf states…
November 22, 2025 at 8:25 PM
So when I’m cycling to work I’m not contributing but if I go in my car I am? Weird…
November 22, 2025 at 8:22 PM
I’d love to see evidence that supports this. I understand that they might not pay as much in fuel duty but they cost the country less so it’s a net benefit to the exchequer. London, where the most tax revenue is raised and has the highest wages, has the highest proportion of cyclists and PT users

Roundabouts and optimism
November 20, 2025 at 8:05 PM
Yes, we’re definitely heading towards a hung parliament or coalition
November 18, 2025 at 8:04 PM
I don’t think they’ll even get 25-30% of seats, they’ll get a lot of second places, while Green, Lib Dem, SNP and Plaid will get more seats than their vote share suggests, as I think the non-Labour left will vote fairly tactically. The hate for RefUK far outweighs everything else
