how/why is the clock lit but it doesn't extend outward to the ceiling or floor? like I get lighting the clock in-universe, clocks are worthless if you can't read them, but why do it like that?

even stranger is the possibility that it was a room somewhere else entirely, masquerading as an interrogation room. i feel like that's the most likely, but then, why pick it? it doesn't add to the realism.

it may have been a set built for the movie, in which case, why go to all the trouble, or it was an actual US government facility that the production had access to, in which case, why did *they* go to all the trouble?

we can see the back wall, with its cutout, sinks into darkness at the bottom. i know lighting is engineered during moviemaking but it's just so strange to me.

third and finally (for now, anyway) is the mystery of the lighting here. one could easily write it off as being an artistic choice made by the crew of the movie, but nothing else in the film comes close to being artistic in the same sense.

second, the far back of the room raises questions. the room is already larger than it needs to be, as we see in most shots, and, more importantly, in the security mirror. but then, it extends back and has a window maybe 5-6 feet inset into the back wall. i can only ask "why" so many times.

the first instance of weirdness is here. presumably, the table is flat, and we can see that the floor is too when it cuts to an overhead shot. so what's with the pattern on the wall? why does it tilt and narrow as it reaches the back of the room?
