Not just the market either: I literally can't do a bunch of outstanding SoulMuppet and Peregrine Coast fulfilment work while the platforms are down either

Intangible results are the folks we've chatted to who are returning customers from Dragonmeet/UKGE/previous TBs, chatting to creators who need a hand with fulfilment, meeting new folks on the scene whose work we'd love to stock, and going to the pub with the lovely @byodinsbeardrpg.com

Roughly 45% of that total goes on replacing stock, so our total result from TB comes to:
£1,600
- £720 stock
- £270 table fee
- £240 staff wages
- £80 travel + food (TB is our local con)
= £290 profit

Realistically, this pays for 2.5ish days of staff time this month (7hrs x £15)

Interestingly, we had just over 1/2 of the orders as we did in 2022 so our spend-per-customer and minimum order values have shot up. Our selection is much wider and price varied than it was 3 years ago, though some evergreen titles continue to impress (we sold out of Electrum Archive then and now!)

How do you square that with folks wanting to put out a zine in their spare time because it’s a hobby?

As for the point on professionalisation, I’m obviously working in the industry for the love of the game but my ultimate aim with Peregrine Coast Press is to create a dignified, safe workplace. Good wage, four day working week, employee ownership. We need consistently performing projects!
