There was a federal private member’s bill (Bill C-306) in 2011 that would have required MPs who crossed the floor to vacate their seat and run in a by-election under their new party affiliation. The Conservatives who were in power then voted overwhelmingly against it. #cdnpoli

Either some device in the general living-room area has unadvertised TTS features, or I'm starting to hear voices.

A few nitpicks about #plex. It's oddly insistent on creating an account, even for a private home server. You can get around it, but it's not obvious. And it doesn't seem to like DNS.
But it works!

#Plex already has one up on #jellyfin: Correctly recognizing "Shirt Tales" and not confusing it for the Japanese TV series "The Tailor-Made Shirt".

Welp. So long, #Jellyfin. It's been fun, but I just can't get you running again.

Openings at my level are like the Chess equivalent of a parent letting go of the bicycle seat. Look Ma! I played the Caro-Kann!

Now what do I do?

I just swatted a mosquito.
In December.
In Canada.
What?

My grandmother is dead. This cursed AI phantom pretending to be her is an abomination controlled by a corporation who wants to sell me steak knives. It would be a desecration of her memory.

$200+ to have my winter tires put on. On-rims. I'm pretty sure I paid less in previous years to have them completely re-rimmed.

Pete Hoekstra's main job seems to be to assure us Trump isn't going to do something that he's been doing all along right before he does more of it, so we should obviously expect the Trump administration to meddle in Canadian politics. #canpoli #uspol www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

It's rare to get snow that sticks around in early December, so this stuff should melt soon, right?

Nanaimo is a town in B.C. And also a chocolate bar. I'd never heard of it before 6 mos ago. Now it seems I hear about it every other week.
I got a wrong number call, and the lady said "they didn't have any peanut butter so I got some of that Nanaimo" And I'm like… is that like Nutella or something?
December 10, 2025 at 3:42 AM
Goddamnit, I've gone and clicked on a Globe and Mail link. And now I won't be able to click on another one for the rest of the month.
