"Uu Uu" - Maria Ushiromiya
Last time I moved none of my kits broke but when resetting up my Sazabi one of the skirt pieces just kinda popped off and stopped existing.

Literally beat for beat this happened to me. Yeah I went back a week later and bought a red Zaku II.

Blue Zakus are so goofy.

You may still have a chance. When I was at Katsucon earlier this year so many people had them despite them being banned. Mainly the Fujo Miku cosplayers.

There’s an odd after taste at the end of 0079 where at that point the viewer understands “the federation wins” isn’t a particularly good thing, so it doesn’t feel like the happiest ending even though it’s kinda treated as such.

ZZ and CCA really help hammer in that even without the Titan’s the Feddies are still corrupt but now just more incompetent.

Umineko is the other work in think really captures this (although in way more time than the Sunset Tree). It deals a lot with learning to interpret your experience, and how being aware of the systems of generational trauma (though necessary to break the cycle) is painful in its own way.

I struggle to refer to my experience as abuse (more neglect), especially bc I’m on good terms with one parent and the other is dead, but I still find something so real about Love, Love, Love and Pale Green Things.

The thought of “why can’t you just be a monster, why do I need good memories too.”

As a survivor of parental abuse I don’t know if any piece of art has captured the nuances and emotional spectrum of it the way John Darnielle does in The Sunset Tree

Mexican Wine is like kinda just a perfect track.

ZZ and CCA have the rich politicians that rule over the people of earth now put at a significant distance from their own constituents and thus care even less if they're actions result in mass death.

"Someone wants to drop a space colony on earth? Let them! After all, we're not on earth"
November 11, 2025 at 2:18 AM
Sounds great until you realize that it might not be the best thing if all the very powerful people with control over earth (who were already ranging from apathetic to psyched about the suffering of the poor) aren't on the planet.

Also so much in the latter half of ZZ too

he's espousing and is more deep down someone fighting out of resentment after losing his hope. I don't know if that's the case for the AEUG because I think he had some hope then in Kamille, which he'd lost.

Ultimately I think it's somewhere in the middle, he wasn't without any ulterior motives.

and I'd say part of Quattro is him allowing himself to be a solider again and escape the expectations of being Char Aznable. He goes to war because it gives him a sense of purpose. Amuro too, but much of that purpose is forced on him.

CCA makes a point that Char barely even believes the ideology...
November 9, 2025 at 12:13 AM
I think there's a lot of earnestness in him wanting to achieve the goals his father set out, and a lot of what he says about needing the world to be better for the next generation seems sincere imo. However, a major idea of UC is that Char literally only knows how to live in the context of war...

It is fundamental to Zeta that the most horrific war crimes be followed by cheery synth-pop and “OH I CANT HELP BELIEVING YOU!!!”

The red def looks like two separate colors but it could be a gradient? Maybe the tusks?
November 7, 2025 at 8:39 PM
In fairness the 3 blues here are very close together, like as a non color blind person I don’t think I’d see them as 3 distinct colors but as a gradient when looking from a distance.
