To all the vegans liking this, I’m sorry, but I do hunt. I don’t have a moral opposition to killing/utilizing animals.
I do have a historic and ecologic opposition to the ways we’re currently using them.

My mom was SO disappointed when our DNA tests turned up nearly 100% Irish with just a touch of Nordic (for reasons which I will not explain in polite company.)

Shifting away from a service based economy is gonna hurt. But you may be right. Our “GDP” and the actual value of tangible goods have been nearly completely decoupled from one another.
Most countries have a lower GDP per person than Mississippi, yet somehow higher quality of life.

I dunno, I’m rambling at this point, but I’d be interested to see how well de-industrialization of farming practices would work out. Especially considering the top-heavy population pyramid the US currently has.
