I think people will also come to understand that it is part of the wider and thoroughly disastrous rentier economy. Big tech is racing to build the AI everyone needs because extracting rents from that will make you richer than god. If they can get the tech right, which they haven't yet.

I believe quite a lot of construction workers die. But also regulatory and planning burdens in general much lower.

To be clear, I think we should do things that piss off the wealthy. But we should get decent returns for it. Like, enough money to invest in what we need.

Pissing off the wealthy *and* failing to raise sufficient taxes. Another absolute blinder by the Labour right. My permanent image of them now is of a cartoon character holding a machine gun aimed at its own feet and pulling the trigger constantly to look macho.

By all means build. But the idea that rents flowing to Blackrock is a boon to the wider economy is absurd. It's extracting money from the level where it circulates in useful ways.
