Metaverse was marketed as The Future. But in reality, it was horizontal growth into a well-established market. Hiring professional gamedevs would've made that obvious, so Meta instead chose incompetence and sold it as innovation. It was a poor decision driven by SV mythos and it cost Zuck dearly.

Musk replaced X's previous algorithm with Grok. With humanlike reasoning, Grok realized any content it pulled would decrease your engagement, so the optimal choice was not to pull. For human beings, X has nothing to offer anymore, so Grok gives you just that: nothing. Genius move 😎

The developer's shampoo doesn't affect their final product. Their AI use does, and usually it lowers the quality (real and perceived). That's why execs don't want to have to disclose it: they want to sell bad products as good. Antifreeze in the wine, consequences be damned.
