IMO, There are 2 ways you can go about it, either start with a small game (like one level game). Or If you have an idea and are excited for it, try and make it, but dont expect it to be made the first time around, thats fine, you failing to finish a game is also learning.

Yeah, I mean no shade to the developer, hes a cool guy, its just i don't get how people got so hooked on this game honestly.

Godot, I've been using it since 3.1 and its improved a ton since then. Mostly started Godot because Unity would load long and crash constantly, maybe its better now. But I think if you want to make a 2D game, Godot is just a way faster Unity at this point.

It's actually a good idea to do this, since if you change a mechanic you dont need to remake assets. Not the best for sharing progress though :D
