To extend the impact of NPAW, the SKIP West hub, co-led by Dr. Ali and Dr. Tara McGrath, hosted Dr. Noel at Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds, where she explored how children’s pain memories can inform better care.

To extend the impact of NPAW, the SKIP West hub, co-led by Dr. Ali and Dr. Tara McGrath, hosted Dr. Noel at Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds, where she explored how children’s pain memories can inform better care.
We were joined by occupational therapists, physiotherapists, Child Life specialists, and our wonderful patient and parent partners, who shared their lived experiences with honesty and courage. Their voices reminded us why this work matters.

The day also featured insights on the role of facility dogs, like Pumbaa, the Stollery’s own! We learned about the impact dogs have on children’s inpatient experiences and the responsibility we all have to support the culture that enables them to do their work effectively. 🐾🏥💚
