Hoshi laughs softly as his fingers intertwine with Hiru’s. As if nothing had happened, they walk, hand in hand, Hiru continuing to talk to the next tank. If it meant they had to separate, Hoshi is pretty sure he’d pass on the touch tank today.

Hoshi suddenly feels a hand reach into his pocket longing for company. Hiru’s hand enveloped Hoshi’s in the depths of a sweatshirt pocket. Hiru in this moment never stops talking but hesitates as his fingers trace knuckles in hesitation. +

Hiru nearly crushed toes or stumbled over his smaller partner in overexcitement. Hoshi still remains completely content and radiates a sense of familiar and comforting warmth in the coldness of the deep sea exhibit surrounding them. +

No matter how old, or how tall, Hiru bends on tiptoes to take in everything he can. In these moments, everything seems to disappear from his clouded mind. Nothing breaks his attention from the creatures swimming behind the glass. That is until peripheral vision sees the soft smile of his partner. +

Hiru truly loses himself in his interests and obsessions and Hoshi wouldn’t be anywhere but right there to listen to all of it. Explaining the anatomy of creatures featuring complicated vocabulary intertwined with excited gasps and childlike pointing. +

Teeth bared, eyes straining into a squint, a dimple on the left side of Hiru’s cheek becoming blatantly obvious. The spark in his heart never fades but it glows brighter and gets stronger with every moment like this. +
