Back of the napkin thermodynamics shows a green H2 -> e-fuel pathway can't be cost competitive with current fossil prices in this cycle due to capex floors, even with learning curves. So it relies on a mix of increased fossil prices, carbon pricing, and subsidy/mandate policies.

"Carbon neutral? Sounds like BS"

The process of making e-fuel captures carbon from the atmosphere; burning releases it back. Similar to growing and burning wood.

The danger from burning fossil fuels is taking (a lot of) carbon from underground and putting it in the atmosphere where it traps heat

(we still don't recommend storing your e-fuel in liquefaction zones)

Electricity was originally charged on a fixed subscription fee basis! Edison charged by the number of light ulbs at the customer premises, fixed fee. Volumetric pricing is a historical abberation from the era when electricity was fuel-opex dominated (spark/watt spread, etc).

7. Solar can grow in many states...

37 states have less than a 10% share of solar.

However, fast change is possible...

There are six states which saw solar’s share rise by five+ percentage points in the 24mths to Oct-2025.

New Mexico was the fastest - rising from 7% to 17%.
