HHGTTG! Oh, and also early jazz and swing, Balkan folkdance and music, 60's rock, Do-wop, electronic and ambient, folk, African. EE / algorithm developer back to the 70's: classifiers for realtime signal and image processing. Adaptive and continual AI.
About forking time!!! There should be a huge number of charges at the state level for illegal detentions without reasonable suspicion or a warrant, and downright kidnapping!! There is no way on God's Green Earth that their hateful, arrogant, brutal treatment of innocent people should stand.

Yes, but surely success cannot be the direct result of overcompensation alone. #:')

OMG!!! Looks like you survived and more than excelled, despite such a rocky psychological / emotional period with such developmental impact. Would wish the same on any in the same situation, but sadly that seems not to be the case. !:|

Did owners of Tesla stock really think that no other, much more experienced carmakers (including manufacturing know how, particularly about quality and reliability) couldn't also make a metal box with batteries, electric motors, and a distributed control system??

We see before us, in real time, how the Brown Shirts became the Gestapo and SS. Big difference, though -- unlike Germany in the 30's, we are a country of immigrants (even the Native Americans!), and there's way more of us than them...

Suggestion for a possibly similar station online (no, you won't get it on the Parkway!) -- MIT's WMBR.

My bad!! I forgot that Silly Wizard is a Scottish band. I'm guessing this goes just as well for any Scotsman who emigrated to the US while his love stayed in Scotland.

Apologies! But I just have to post what's probably my all time fav from Vanessa Mae. Recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall: youtu.be/e00InJbXPLk?...

Thanks to several next door neighbors from India, I can then wonder about the need to learn 22 major languages spoken there, in order to take her suggestion properly... #:")

While we're all visiting a more classical realm, I was reminded of another LP we listened to until the tracks wore out (proverbially, it may actually have been a CD): youtu.be/Xh5eCupjS1o?...

This has long been one of my fav lullabies. (We lived in Princeton for quite a while, and Paul Robeson is prominent in Princetonian history -- even a street is named after him.)

It's the rogue microprocessors -- they've been designing themselves into products for years now, and they may, in fact, be evolving. Which means they don't always do what you want them to do...

Speakers prolly make the biggest difference, IMHO. Plus vinyl really does physically degrade over time, due to the needle.

So, a time traveling T-Rex so he could get a hat, a boat, and fishing equipment. Could be a whole new SciFi genre. #:')

And hopefully not full of veggies, the way my wife used to make muffins. Her "cookies" weren't too popular either. At a family gathering, she had baked these white things with dots of that pseudo chocolate in them. My Mom tried one bite and said "I'm not sure what to do with the rest of this". #:')

Hey! Don't forget those spiky things the chariots used to have on their wheels (at least in the chariot movies, that is)!

I use the spelling "hoit" for "hurt", being pretty much the closest phonetic spelling to the way an old Jewish person with a Yiddish accent would pronounce it. "It couldn't hurt" is a phrase I also associate with the same bunch of older folks (but I could be wrong about that!).
November 14, 2025 at 8:39 PM
Thanks! Was wondering if had the spelling right!

So glad that worked for you! One of the best live performances I've seen in quite a long time. The band is excellent too. #:')

Forgot to post LP's live cover of "Halo" (compare to Beyonce's version, which, IMHO, sounds like cover of LP's version). Make sure you hear the entire live version: youtu.be/L6X0PqIWfzQ?...
